John Mark
John S. Mark Formerly of Ambridge John S. Mark, 74, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2019. He was the son of the late John and Kathryn (Maydak) Mark. He is survived by his fiancée, Vickie Switzer, St. Augustine, Florida; a daughter, Kimberlee (Joe) Rivello, Philadelphia; a son, Keith (Kim) Mark, Delaware; four grandchildren, Brandyn and Austin Mark and Kailee and Dillion Rivello; one brother, Dennis (Carol) Mark, Tampa, Florida; nephew, Scott (Sara) Mark; and a niece, Mellissa (Jim) Dicks. John was a graduate of Ambridge High School, Point Park College, and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. John retired after many years of service from Goldsteins Funeral Home in Philadelphia, and retired to St. Augustine, Florida. His photo has been added to the In Memoriam Page.

David Wuycik
David W. Wuycik Ambridge David W. Wuycik, 73, of Ambridge, died Monday, May 6, 2019, in Good Samaritan, Beaver. He was born on January 11, 1946, a son of the late Walter and Luba Louise (Rudnitsky) Wuycik. He was retired from the State of PA and was a member of St Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. Surviving are one brother, Dennis M. Wuycik, Chapel Hill N.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Daria A. and James Wooten, Welcome N.C.; one niece, Carley Wooten, Washington D.C. and one nephew, Samuel James Wooten, Welcome N.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donn R. Wuycik on December 2, 2014. His photo has been added to the In Memoriam Page.
Martha Jean Losco Ferrence
Martha Jean Ferrence Baden Martha Jean Ferrence, of Baden, passed away peacefully in her home on February 25, 2020, at the age of 74. She was born September 30, 1945, in Sewickley, to the late Daniel and Martha (Paslosky) Losco. Martha left us with the following thoughts she wrote, "I enjoyed every moment I spent with my family and friends as they gave me great joy and love. I want to be remembered for my love of all God's creations, especially my beloved pets." Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Ferrence; a daughter, Amy Jo Ferrence of Gloucester, Va.; a son, Robert Stephen (Lauri) Ferrence of Imperial; grandchildren, Robert Andrew Mycyk, Amber Nicole Mycyk, Elliott Ferrence and Emily Ferrence. At Martha's request, there was no public visitation. Funeral services and burial were private. Her photo has been added to the In Memoriam Page.

Lorraine Popik Garcia
Lorraine Garcia, 75, of Harmony Twp., passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Allegheny General Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1945 in Sewickley, PA to the late Edward and Nellie ( Rollins) Popik. She was a secretary for the former Wycoff Steel Corporation, worked as a lunch lady and substitute secretary for the Ambridge Area School District, and was a gymnastic instructor for the Sewickley YMCA. She was an avid writer, and enjoyed riding her sea-doo's and boating. Lorraine lived life to the fullest and loved swimming and going to the beach. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Anthony " Tony" Garcia and a brother Edward Popik, Jr. She is survived by her 2 children, Kim ( Eric) Krithinithis of Harmony Twp. and Dean (Sheila) Garcia of Center Township, two grandchildren, James D. Garcia and Kevin A. Garcia, beloved four legged companion, Trixie, mouthy talking parrott, Pepper, and grandog, Lily. Her photo has been added to the In Memoriam Page.

Richard James Makowski
Captain Richard James ‘Dick” Makowski, age 74 of Marion, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 26,2020 surrounded by his family. Dick was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 16, 1945 to the late Joseph Thomas and Helen Phyllis (Jurcack) Makowski. Dick grew up in Baden, Pennsylvania and graduated from Ambridge High School in 1963.
After graduation, Dick entered the US Air Force where he served as an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter at Lockbourne Air Force Base near Columbus, Ohio.  Prior to deploying to Vietnam, Dick met Candice (Candy) Kay Klingel.  Surviving the Tet Offensive, Dick returned from Vietnam and immediately proposed to Candy. The two were wed on November 16, 1968.  Together, Dick and Candy moved to the Klingel Family Farm near Waldo.  Here they raised two children and made lasting memories. During Dick’s working years, he continued his firefighting career at The City of Marion Fire Department, a job he truly loved.  While working for the Fire Department, he advanced to Captain.  Dick holds the record of most babies delivered while on duty – 5 and they were all girls.  Civically, Dick was the Chairman of The Marion Safety Council and past Commander of Waldo American Legion Post 605 and the 6th District of the American Legion.  Dick was a member of the International Association of Firefighters and O.A.P.F.F. Dick will be missed by his wife, Candice; children, Nicole (Mike) Gibson of Delaware and Captain Michael (Kelly) Makowski of Waldo; grandchildren, Brandon Makowski, Corey (Hannah) Makowski, Logan Gibson, Dillon (Virginia) Steinhilber, Ella Gibson, Kendall Gibson and adopted grandson, Zach Burris; great-grandchildren, Jordan Makowski, Sophia Huntsman and Elias Richard Makowski; brother, Joseph (Donna) Makowski, brother-in-law William Ickley and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Ickley. Ernestine M. (Gombeski) Guido Ambridge Ernestine M. (Gombeski) Guido, 74, of Ambridge, loving mother, and grandmother passed on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born in Ohio Valley Hospital on July 20, 1945, she was daughter of the late Will and Violet Gombeski. Loving mother of Heidi and Albert; cherished grandmother of Hailey; sister of Candy (Ronnie) Melnikof and Lee (David) Barngrover. A hard-worker, Ernestine retired from Embassy Suite in 2010. Richard M. Slipko, 75, of Ambridge, died Tuesday, May 18,2021, UPMC Presbyterian. Born November 10,1945, Sewickley, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Mary Warholic Slipko. He was retired from US Airways and was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Scott Slipko, Beaver, David and Michele Slipko, Cranberry Twp., two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristina and Mark Takac, Cranberry Twp., Jennifer and Jim Hinchman, Harmony, PA., nine grandchildren, Owen, Shane, Anna, Carter, Leyton, Alex, Morgan, Mia, Maura, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev Fr. Steve and Mary Slipko, Vancouver, British Columbia, John and Phan Slipko, Coraopolis, and his loving friend, Andrea. His photo has been added to the In Memoriam Page.
Robert Ferrence
Robert Ferrence, age 76, of Baden, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He was born on September 17, 1944 in Ambridge, to the late Stephen and Mary Ferrence. He was a retired steelworker for LTV Steel. He had a love for classic cars and enjoyed attending car cruises. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and had a great love for animals. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife Martha and five brothers and sisters. He is survived by a daughter, Amy Jo Ferrence of Gloucester, VA, a son, Robert Stephen (Laurie) Ferrence of Imperial, grandchildren, Robert and Amber Mycyk, Emily and Elliott Ferrence, great grandson, Brantley Mycyk and numerous nieces and nephews.
